Carl-Éric Aubin
Executive and Scientific Director, Institut TransMedTech
Carl-Éric Aubin is a full professor in mechanical/biomedical engineering at Polytechnique Montréal, a researcher at CHU Sainte-Justine and an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal. Prof. Aubin is the Executive and Scientific Director of the TransMedTech Institute, which he founded. The Institute, supported by the Apogee Canada Research Excellence Fund, is a living laboratory of open innovation dedicated to supporting the development of innovative medical technologies and training the next generation of professionals in this field.
He has published more than 290 articles in scientific journals and edited books, nearly 700 abstracts published in scientific journals or conference proceedings, and is co-author of 7 patents. He has received several awards, including the 2017 Excellence in Innovation Award from CHU Sainte-Justine, the 2016 Excellence in Research and Innovation Award from Polytechnique Montreal, the Jacques-Rousseau Award for Multidisciplinarity from the Association francophone pour le savoir (2015), and the Young Researcher Award of Excellence from the Foundation of Stars (2010).
Prof. Aubin is a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, has been named an Officer of the Order of Canada, and has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Aix-Marseille, among others.
