Researcher, Centre d’innovation des produits cellulosiques – Innofibre
Nathalie Bourdeau, biologist and holder of a master’s degree in environmental science, has been a researcher at Innofibre, CCTT of the Cégep de Trois-Rivières specializing in innovative cellulosic products and bioproducts since 2014. She is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics at UQTR and an associate member of the Groupe de recherche en biologie végétale. Nathalie Bourdeau has expertise in the valorization of algal and forest biomass, as well as in bioproduct development. She is currently leading industrial research projects for the development of bioactive ingredients produced from forest extractives in order to valorize bark residues generated by the forest industry. Oriented towards regional development, these projects have led her to acquire experience in the organization of value chains, the coordination of multidisciplinary teams and consultation with local stakeholders. With her experience in the development of natural antimicrobial ingredients, she also contributes to Innofibre’s innovative cellulosic product projects with antimicrobial and bioactive properties.
