Karine Duval

R&D Robotics Director, Zimmer Biomet

Karine Duval is currently holding the position of development director at Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in musculoskeletal healthcare. She graduated from Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal in 2006 in Mechanical Engineering. she started as a manufacturing engineer, then moved to mechanical design and She has been a development director for close to 7 years. She is part of the Computer assisted surgery group and mainly works on the development of new technologies to assist the placement of orthopedic implants. She is responsible for managing product development for computer assisted products and robotic projects. Her team consists of Mechanical, software, electronic, system engineers, and their work spans from concept creation all the way to product release. Karine is originally from Haiti and have been in Quebec since 1990. She has been involved throughout the years with different organizations as a volunteer from Oxfam to Accès Benévolat. Her personal tagline is; in a world where you can be anything, be nice. Because she truly believes, you can have leadership, be assertive but make a conscience effort to nurture positive interaction with others
