Jean-Philippe Laverdure

Working as a senior bioinformatician within the bioinformatics platform of the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) for nearly 20 years now, Jean-Philippe had the opportunity to design, implement and deploy many IT solutions to support the research activities held there. From service portals to LIMS for scientific data management and pharmaceutical production to data visualization and analysis modules, he has spearheaded the efforts of several digital transitions. His most recent project was the implementation of an animal colony management portal serving the activities of the 3 major animal facility departments of the University of Montreal (PBIV, DANI and FANI).
Jean-Philippe will discuss in particular the fact that digital transformation projects are rarely simple but that they all have the advantage of deepening our knowledge of our internal processes and improving our practices.
